The Tragedy

There was a guy
He flew and flew
Running and dodging
His mind was full of liquid thoughts
Chasing love
Until he found The One
She took his heart
Colored it
The reddest of colors
It beat slow and rhythmic
For her
Like it was supposed to
He loved her face
A smile that curved way up
It surrounded her eyes
Crinkled from so much use
She loved his mind
Dark, loving, authentic and true
So much love for her sassy self
Her nurturing naturalness
Made him safe
He bared it all for her
She accepted and they grew flowers
Planted gardens that were healthy
And full, so full
They got married
Kids popped out, happy, with smiling eyes
Life got busy and time rolled and rolled
The offspring, they grew, well nourished
Like he was
She did that, it was her superpower
But still....
His mind grew darker
Demons lurked hard and sinister
A thousand whispers quietly spoke
As loud as a sports arena
Ringing in his ears
Taking hold of him and showing
Darkness and despair
That spread beyond his means
No longer holding it for himself
Containment was hard and evil
Her smile diminished more and more
No longer nourishing him,
No longer able to feed him love
She grew tired
Weak and lost hope
That smile, it curved down now
He came home and killed her
With a bag and some potatoes
His heart black and hardened now
Concrete could learn from him
He sat on the curb, looking about
Sad, lost, desperate
And cried forever
