In Love\'s Snare
You\'re kind, you\'re funny,
It\'s so frustrating how effortlessly you do it,
How you\'ve ensnared me,
How I\'m underwater, drowning.
I walked right into it, how could I be so naive
To fall in love with you?
Maybe it was when you asked about my day,
Or when you sent a funny emoji.
I honestly don\'t know, it was so easy,
I didn\'t even see the trip wire
That you had set or the camera in the corner.
I can\'t believe I fell for it again,
I fall in love with the same mistake.
Why did I even try to resist,
When I knew I would?
I\'m in love and it\'s a trap,
I know it is, but I\'m willing to risk it.
And I could burn up or fall down,
But it\'s worth it.
I see the stop sign but I just walk right past it,
I see the yellow line on the road, but I cross it.
It\'s amazing how well your trap worked and how it captured me,
How my mind is on you constantly.
I\'ve tried to escape but it\'s not that easy.
Lord, please help me,
I\'m walking right off a cliff into the sea with chains around my neck and feet.
And once I fell and hit the water,
I was drowning and it only took an hour.
So please come save me, please.
This trap was so easy to see,
But I walked into it anyway,
And now only you can set me free.
