Where does time go?
The doctor asked the question,
“Have you ever smoked?”
Yes, I had smoked
Smoked very heavily.
I remember the day,
The day that I stopped,
The day I gave up smoking
In October nineteen eighty-two,
It was October sixteenth in that year,
It was at my nephew’s wedding
And that date has stuck with me.
But then the thought came to me
“How long ago!”
Blimey, it was forty-three years ago,
It seemed a lifetime!
Where does this time go?
