A LEGEND GOES HOME

The world mourns,
A literary legend from Kenya,
Whose pen bleeds till death,
Decolonising the Minds of Africans.

Weep not Child,
A consolation to literary giants,
Many felt the Trial of Dedan Kimati,
Caught up in the River Between.

Life is fickle,
Like a Grain of Wheat with wits,
He was a Wizard of the Crow,
Fighting the Devil on the Cross.

In the Petals of Blood
Lies the fight of African liberation,
Though he Dreamt in a Time of War,
Matigari, a call for resistance.

At the Perfect Nine and time,
Many will share testimonies,
In his Homecoming lies his homegoing,
What a Prison Memoir!

\"I will marry when I want\"
The song of his literary descendants,
In death, we rejoice in tears,
For he has paid his dues with pen.

Adieu, Ngugi Wa Thiong\'o,
For we are pained in tearful laughter,
His legacy will live forever,
Decolonising many Minds.
