Such dizzying wonder
As the cool crispness comes
A slow winding down of the world!
Winter stifles a yawn, and stretches,
Its icy fingers chilling the very air.
And, once again, the hearth fires are stoked
The air filled with the sweet burning cedar
The heat of the fire bringing a faint smile
As I, swathed in blankets and pillows,
Drift off to precious sleep.
