I have been inundated
with philosophical thoughts.
You be the judge of how serious
they were.
In my dreams I met God.
We went for a stroll on the river bank.
At times, He would start to speak
But then he hesitated and wouldn\'t finish.
Between one such pause I asked,
Why did he have to bear the heavy burden of birth?
\"it is a reminder to you about the sacredness of life\"
\"But my mother gave me life.\"
An exasperated sigh- \"that is why you are mediocre.
Did you face the mirror?
Thought why no beauty spared you a second glance?
Children born of me rule your world.
You are the off-shored mass-produced cheap product\"
Thanks to our history of Colonial Raj,
I had mastered the habit of saying:
\"Yes my Lord\"
Then I asked:
Why a woman president in the land of free,
was not a possibility?
He said:
\"Son I admit my fault--
They have a critical design flaw.
I wanted to stop its production but had to continue on popular demand.
People said they were needed for turning houses into homes!
In order to rule, one needs a gun,
I forgot to give them one.
The President carries my stamp on Earth.
I can\'t approve of a faulty product\"
And I said \"Yes my Lord\".
I gaped, and I gaped in awe!
Did this logic also produce the Colonial law?
But, I found His logic flawed.
I couldn\'t understand how
my wife managed to put the fear of God in me day and night.
The absence of gun make women tough bosses in real life.
Yes Sir or Yes Lord,
Is there any difference in submission to Earthly or divine God?
I thank thee for making it clear;
His children (hallowed thy names) are the Earthly Gods.
Now I ponder a philosophical point
Were the rulers of Colonial Raj God\'s children?
