Be Still, My Soul (A Meditation on Waiting)

Be still, my soul, and wait on the Lord.
Earth and heaven are waiting still
For their redemption.
Though time is sifting through the clock,
And your wait—laborious and long—
Has grown shorter,

Still, wait you must. But let
Faith take its rightful place.
Walk on as you have—patiently,
Without hesitancy. Let God’s
Holy Spirit know you wait,
And that the wait has been rewarding.
Be still, my soul, and wait on the Lord.
