Choice

You rise above the darkness

Don’t even ask my name.

I never caught yours either,

Still, I think I know your game.

 

I’ve met you more than once or twice,

And ran to dodge the pain.

But maybe now I’ll face you,

Might even catch your name.

 

For if I sit and listen,

And let you have your say,

You might not haunt me like before,

You’d more likely fade than stay.
