One thought stirs

With a thought holding on by a lighters flick,
he cannot blind the thought it\'s too thick.
She still had life left in her candles wick.

He walked through the door with his head down.
Watched each step get set on the ground.
Thinking about the love that he found.

Throwing his keys at the tables scratched top,
an old habit of hoping they pause before they drop.
This one time an omen comes because they stopped.

Stood still with a look of pain and despair.
Today head down without a worldly care.
His loves life was lost and wasn\'t spared.

He will always feel the softness of her,
always remember the memories that stir,
and will think about that day for sure.

One thought comes and festers his night.
Losing his love, now a burnt in sight,
turn on the gas stove and of a candle, light.
