I am grateful for the world I see,
Glad to have felt a touch of happiness.
But I do not wish to live on—
My body aches from passing years,
Reminding me of who I was, and who I’m losing.
Passion and desire—
They no longer bring peace.
I’ve known joy, yet peace escapes me.
And for that, I long for an end,
For I can bear no more.
Let me be still,
Drifting in frozen water.
I do not wish for goodbye—
But if it comes, may it come gently and soon.
