Still Water, Silent Light

The moon does not disturb the lake.
It offers light and nothing more.
No ripples where no hands have stirred—
Only peace on a silver shore.

I sit beside my sleeping wife,
Her breath a tide that pulls me near.
In her, I find the quiet truth:
Love is not loud, but ever clear.

We’ve wept, we’ve laughed, we’ve braved the storm,
But here we lie in soft repose.
The echo of our years remains
Like moonlight where the water flows.

No need to speak, no urge to fill
The air with sound to make it real.
What matters most, I’ve come to learn,
Is what we see—and what we feel.
