Did I mention the mosquitoes?

How do I tell you about where I come from? Well, it started on the north side, in the groves. There were Florida tarantulas back then. Not really tarantulas, but big ol\' huntsman spiders. Might as well of been tarantulas. Black widows and recluses were plentiful too. They lived in the wall crevasses of the old woodsided house.

You ever had a banana spider descend from the bill of your hat while you were bushhogging next to the tree line? You ever had a four inch house spider wake you up at night as he ran across your face? I have. It was the fastest I had ever gotten outa bed.

Walkin\' catfish and thousands of frogs used to cross the puddled roads after the summer\'s 3:30 pm storms. I would watch them from the windows. Lightning was plentiful too. How many times have I seen the the purple glow of an electrical transformer when it did blow?

Foxtail squirrels, gopher turtles, whippoorwills and the occasional gator. It\'s not like that anymore. Too many people came to our shores.

Too many houses
Too many stores
Drove it all away
The ones that walked
On all fours
Fire ant wars
(They won, by the way)
Another populous
Brought to our shores

So what\'s the point of all this? Well, if you remembered the 3:30 storms, and the groves that turned orange, you might verily know, you might understand the old days between the Florida shores.
