Arriving to this place,
No-one\'s around.
I look and look,
But I can\'t find anyone.
It\'s scary -
That nobody\'s here.
This world feels empty,
Like I\'m the only one here.
I walk into the commercial center,
Finally giving up search.
It\'s nighttime,
Everything is quiet and dark.
A high-pitched buzz drills into my ears -
Electric and wrong.
I look up,
And see the screen of
A building light up white.
\"Go to the game arena\"
The screen displays,
An arrow pointing right,
Below the words.
Curious,
I follow the arrow.
I find a lit up building.
Cautiously,
I walk inside.
I reach a point in the building,
Where cellphones are displayed,
Beside a red elevator.
I walk forward,
A shiver runs down my spine,
As I walk through the registration.
I look at the phones,
\"1 per person\"
The sign displays.
I take a phone,
Holding it up to my face,
\"Face recognition loading...\"
The phone displays.
\"Face recognition complete.\"
I gaze into the phone,
Pondering what the game entails.
A person walks in,
Picks up a phone,
Unphazed.
They look at me,
And I ask,
\"What is this supposed to be?\"
They say,
\"These are games.
Games where you either die or live.
If you try to leave the game,
You will be killed.\"
I ask,
\"Literally?\"
\"Literally.\"
Dread coils in my chest.
I don\'t want to die.
The games consists of,
Clubs,
Hearts,
Diamonds,
And Spades.
Clubs requires teamwork.
Working together will get you through.
Hearts requires emotional manipulation.
Such a cruel card to play.
Diamonds requires strategy.
Where wit shines through.
Spades requires physical strength.
Only the athletic will surpass.
As more and more players
Walk through the registration,
The game starts.
Am I going to survive -
or die trying?
