It’s Always My Fault

It’s always my fault.
At least that’s what I had been taught.
And what I always thought.

In every situation that didn’t go well I turned the focus back to me and attempted to figure out what I had done wrong this time and how to work on myself to be better.

To fix whatever was wrong with me.

To tone down what was too much and build up what wasn’t enough.

Never once thinking of the part the other person played, just me and my reactions because only I am in my control.

Only thinking of me.

How selfish of me to be the only one to take the blame.
