Enfers

Flesh raised with blisters

with ashes and embers as lessons

a young child dreams, speaking with fire;

his words will be felt like a full-thickness burn.

Age eight, three a.m.:

the vision unfolds as the familiar fist hits;

pain draws the boundries.

The future is foretold, the narrator speaks

of the word to become deed, that terrible seed:

an act of the child, the growing monster

that match for a smoldering city!
