Emery Walker

Magpie

As the tale is told through time,

Through the Catholic Church and the preachers,

Warnings said to look out for them.

Try to be wary, don’t catch a glimpse,

They had refused the death of Jesus.

They work with the devil, blood in their eyes,

And now they bring misfortune to those

Who look right into them.

Their bleak black and white skin

They cannot weep or show emotions

One will bring you sorrow, two for joy,

But you won’t find a second.

Despair will be brought upon you,

Not even a salute will do.

Bad things are coming your way,

You have claimed a bad omen.

They locked me up with these perceptions,

Chained with shackles outside the village.

I will raise calamity, I will bring bad luck,

Spread my despair like it’s a disease

Condemn those that cross me all of my chaos.

I’m the magpie that piqued your interest

And now you’re being dragged down with me.
