There I was playing croquet,
Playing a lady from the club
In a club competition.
Looking round there were others,
Others playing the game we love.
They were all in pairs on the lawns
And three other lawns were used.
The funny thing was though
They were all ladies,
I was the only man playing.
This took me way back,
Back to a time at work.
My boss was a lady,
I was her deputy.
There were eight other staff members
And they were all ladies,
Once more I was the only man,
The only man in the workforce.
Such good memories brought back
As I knocked the balls over the lawn
And won my match
To get in the final,
The final of the club competition.
