Life feels like a to-do list

Life feels like a to-do list,
Moving from task to task.
When you arrive, I feel blissed,
You show me truth, without a mask.

I can see the green leaves,
Smell the flowers in the air.
Chasing goals can be thieves,
Stealing time from what I care.

My house may be messy,
Yet still, the room feels bright.
With your presence, I’m steady,
And my soul begins to light.

We talk about the past,
About the road that brought us near.
No need to be moving so fast,
We grow, we learn, we hold the year.

Even in life’s great rush,
There is calm, there’s wandering.
You give me a gentle hush:
To enjoy, to savor everything.
