I’m No Longer Waiting

We met so young, just ten years old,

Our bond was deep, our story bold.

Five years passed, we grew as one

But now that time feels overdone.

You spoke of dreams, of vows, of rings,

Of love that flies on endless wings.

But all those words began to fade

When she walked in, and trust decayed.

You used to shout my name with pride,

Now whisper it when she\'s beside.

My heart once danced to every beat,

Now breaks at every past repeat.

You chased me once, like dogs pursue,

And I fell hard, too much for you.

Then you met her, and I became

The one who waited, lost in shame.

But tables turn, and now you run,

Chasing me like I’m the sun.

Too late, my dear—I’ve found my flame,

And I won’t play your waiting game.

I’ve shed the leash,

I’ve burned the chain,

No longer bound by love or pain.

So if you read this, know it’s true:

I don’t need dogs to chase me too.
