There is fire in my veins.
It begs and pleads-
Screaming to be free.
It\'ll eat up all my oxygen,
Burn me inside and out
Until nothing remains.
I know i can\'t stop the inevitable.
But i can suppress it.
I can control it.
I can keep it from consuming my entirety
As long as I give in every so often,
The damage won\'t be irreparable.
I need to let it breathe
Let it out.
Watch the flame flicker
Always growing bigger.
It\'s not enough, never enough
The flames have started burning my sleeves.
I\'ve grown addicted to the flame,
The way it licks at my skin
And leaves burn marks in its wake
They\'re trophies.
Proof of every time
I refused to let the fire win the game.
