Fire and Smoke
Fire and smoke — I can’t inhale anymore.
It’s toxic here; I can’t bear the thought.
A lifelong threat to body and soul,
Internal organs damaged, destroyed.
I can’t breathe — fresh air is gone.
How can one survive when no one cares?
This poison gives cancer, stage three now,
And only now you act like it means something
When it never truly did.
