Tom Dylan

Point Taken

I ask if I can borrow a pound

for the parking meter outside

you say no and roll your eyes

making it clear you’d rather die.

I thought that we were good mates,

that we were the best of friends,

I also thought friends help each other,

I’m sorry if that idea offends.

Friends are there for each other,

friends stand side by side,

If I could help you out I would,

you’d never be denied.

Good friends help each other out,

and you know I’d do the same,

but when I ask the smallest favour,

you make me feel so ashamed.

I ask a favour and rest assured

you would always be paid back double,

I think I must have misunderstood

when you said nothing is too much trouble.
