Friend or Foe which are you

Friend or Foe, which are you

Can you even tell

Can you be true about you and me

A lion hunts its prey while a lioness protects her cubs

What am I to you

Am I the prey or the cub

The friend or the foe or both

Are you the friend I can depend on or the foe that causes me to stay alert

Are you true to the cause, or in everything, do you have to pause

Which are you, the friend, the foe or both

A question hard to consume, then may we not resume

A friend I need, a foe I want to avoid, such friendships are complicated

I need a friend, not a foe, who is determined to overthrow

I need two hands, not one

I need both eyes, not none

Each must coordinate and work hand in hand

Not opposing and arguing

Fighting and deceiving

Hating and betraying

We must work hand in hand

Who are you, the friend, the enemy or both?
