NO PRINCESS

She lays beneath
Her carpet green
A bed of grass
Sunshines gleam
Warms the earth
Which comforts her
At peace at last
No longer a care.

No princess no
Her hazel eyes
No longer open
No longer wide
To see the world
Free of drugs
Time now frozen
This blanket hugs.

Tight about
Her wistful soul
The young woman
Who will not grow old
Flowers laid
Some warm kind words
Another victim
As if life cared.
