End of Day One

Between burning the pancakes and making the bacon a little too crispy; Taliah wants to leave day one in her book of history! Sometimes as caregivers we tend to take it all on by ourselves; never pausing for just a moment and simply ask for help. New appliances(upgraded from what she is use to) mean temperatures don’t need to be set so high as old. Which lead to burning pancakes as hard as black coal. We believe we’ve done this many times before so easy it will be; every home and kitchen like the patient is new though; so we must remember to slow down and let things flow naturally. Taliah spent all morning running around like a headless chicken; Henry found it oh so comical to watch her scrambling around in his kitchen! He also is deeply appreciative of how well she carries herself. This gal has a great sense of humor and a politeness just the same; but Henry can see behind her smile there’s just a hint of pain. “Taliah; the second time around and I’ll have you know these pancakes are the best I’ve had in quite some time!” “The icing on top Vt Maple Syrup; makes an old man such as myself smile”! It turns out Henry had a log cabin in Vt with his wife for many years. When she died he and Tucker sold it. Both shed many tears. Taliah has just finished the list Tucker left behind. Adding a few of her own finishing touches; she hope He and Henry won’t mind. “No problem Henry!” “I’ve left no remnants of the pancake disaster behind.” This makes them both laugh all over again for quite some time. Companionship is a big piece of caregiving from the heart! Tomorrow is another day and I’m hopeful you’ll read the next part!!!
