CARETAKER AND THE GARDEN

Caretaker And The Garden

By SHANTHA TELDENIYA

Caretaker, Caretaker

Without your caring,

The flowers aren’t blooming,

And the treetops are bending.

No more birds, and no buzzing bees,

Have they fled with the drought,

 carried by breeze?

The flowerbeds dried up,

Untouched by watering cup.

No more green grass

The ground lies bare and wept.

Flower buds have dropped,

With no care, they’ve slept.

Bushes are covered

In dust and debris,

No loving hands

To tend tenderly.

No gentle watering,

No kind caring,

Without our dear caretaker,

Who’ll guard the garden, daring?

Dear Saint dwelling

In Eden so fair,

Please send a caretaker

Who loves flowers with care.
