The pool has become contaminated.
The brain has become impaired and the heart, partial.
Jealousy and greed have weakened our judgement, diminishing our ability to see the light.
The structural integrity of our existence has become compromised.
We find ourselves lacking from whence we were full.
We can not function.
We are ruled by the impertinent comments of others, leaving our days heavy and our balance off.
There is a lack of civility at the forefront that is apparently perpetuating down the lineage of our DNA.
Family values of love and support, comfort and care, have almost completely become extinct, to the point where if it were to be recalled, it would do so only by cracking open a book of antiquity and reading the words in black and white on paper.
There is a lack of luster and an air of callousness in the air.
We feel compelled to win when there is no game to play.
Our foresight is muddled. Our hindsight is lost.
And we continue to perpetuate our blood thirsty habits onto each other through generations immediately blindsighting the new and innocent.
And even if we are conscious of it, if we can in fact see the damage that we are causing another in front of our very eyes, we can’t help it. although we cry tears of remorse, we still can’t help it.
We have become a mutation of what was once, many years ago, a breed of goodness and an element of virtue.
We only now ask, in light of our confession to the aforementioned revelation, that you have mercy on us. If not for the monsters that we have become, then for all of the goodness that we once were and hopefully will be again.
There was goodness in us once. Look to that in your mercy. Amen.
