Falling Into The Sky

Falling Into The Sky

Grandpa parks beside a bus

I put down the book I had read

Conversations behind us

An hour long adventure ahead

I leave my troubles behind

Abandon all anxiety

Let excitement fill my mind

Let positivity guide me

Many miles of stone we cross

The path leading up to the top

Keep to the trail; don’t get lost

We take breaks but never stop

When at last we both arrive

With the Delicate Arch in sight

The rocks seem to come alive

Towers stretching towards great heights

As I stand under the arch

Gravity suddenly shifts

I reach out, grasp onto the arch

As I feel my whole body lift

I leave the world behind me

Fall into the sky, into space

‘Til the earth’s a marble, blue and green

With the stars shining on my face

Far away, a pair of eyes

Look back at me from worlds unknown

“I see you” I think as I fly

Back to earth, the world of my own

Back where a young woman shines

A memory secured in time.
