Singing In The Choir.

I take my position in the front,

Standing in the same place where

I have stood since the beginning

When the Choir was first formed.

Our conductor raises his hands,

The pianist plays the first notes,

The Sopranos send their notes

High into the hall,

The tune wafting into eternity.

The basses join the sound,

My voice amongst them,

Holding the low ground

Of beautiful music.

The altos then start singing,

Singing notes so different

That fit so majestically

In the music.

Then the tenors join,

Their voices fitting so well

To complete the wondrous harmony.

The choir, so controlled,

The joy of their singing is there,

It can be seen in their faces.

The love of singing can be felt

As the beauty of music

Sails into the ether.
