No beef roast cut to order.
No Bone-in Turkey breast.
It\'s Christmas Eve,
The stores are packed,
And I just need to rest.
Luckily, my husband and our son
are very easygoing,
As long as there is food to eat,
To me they won\'t come moaning.
I Googled recipes and found a stir fry
made with veggies from the freezer.
I\'m skeptical, but the author claims
they\'ll turn out hot and crisp.
So, I\'ll defrost some jumbo shrimp
And hope it\'s a tasty dish.
I have some cans of white clam sauce
And dry whole wheat linguine.
That\'s a meal that will come
Directly from the pantry.
So for Christmas Eve and Christmas day
We\'ll have something to eat.
I\'ll bake brownies from a boxed mix
To end with a fudgy treat.
Okay, it\'s not a special roast
Decked out with all the trimmings,
But we\'ll all be together
To celebrate the season.
