Singapore Days

One and a half years, the best I’ve ever known,
A time that felt steady, a place like my own.
Every day looked the same from the outside view,
Yet somehow each morning still felt completely new.

I’d head out every day with nowhere to be,
A burger in my hand, almost always the same fee.
Shopping bags swinging, time moving slow,
Life felt light in a simple, comfortable flow.

Then came the place where excitement took hold,
The moment I entered, my heart felt bold.
Roller coasters calling, fear turning to cheer,
Transformers and Shrek, memories still near.

Even the dark rides pulled me inside,
Revenge of the Mummy, fear mixed with pride.
A full day of joy would quietly end,
Leaving nights that I wished I could bend.
