The Tamil knew himself as clans,
He shaped his living lands as tinais.
He paved the path to live, discerned the art of living,
Conquered and discovered many realms.
He marked his path; he danced no havoc,
Humanity flourished; sanctity, he declared,
Is one for all lives born on earth.
Thus he proclaimed: One caste alone; one God alone.
He found grammar, framed literature—Therefore I say, the Tamil,
By birth, by tongue, by race, by tinai:All towns are ours! Hear all ye kin!
