Tune: Monks Gate
(\'He who would valiant be\')
Psalm 84 v.1-9
********
How amiable, lovely
Your dwelling place be
O Lord of hosts, my soul
Longs, my being whole
For your courts, residence
To spend my days there hence
My flesh, my heart, cries out
To you God, no doubt
Even sparrow has found
There a nesting ground
Where she may lay her young
Where your praises sung
Blessed are they who dwell in
Your house, praise still begin
Blessed they whose strength in you
Is, and your ways true
They pass through Baca\'s* vale (*vale of weeping)
Make it without fail
Make weeping into well
Tears refresh, they tell
They go from strength to strength
Walk through the breadth and length
Of your sure dwelling place
Of mercy and grace
O Lord God, hear my prayer
We know you are there
Behold, O God, our shield
You all power wield
And look upon the face
Of your anointed, trace
Us too in Christ your Son
The anointed one
