THE MISSING JUSTICE
(Denying rights and pluralism is a crime—a reflection in verse)
The law professor
Finished the lecture.
In the auditorium, a voice was heard,
A petite girl with her hand raised.
\"I have a question, professor,
Please explain it to me.\"
She began her question with \"Why?\"
Before she could finish,
The professor, irritated,
Stopped the student.
\"I never allow questions,
Leave the hall immediately.\"
The student left, the hall fell silent,
The professor continued on
With questions and answers,
And the students listened.
Only listened, not one
Raised a hand for questions.
\"Are you law students?\"
The professor asked.
\"Yes,\" the students replied.
\"Will you uphold justice?\"
He asked again.
\"Yes,\" the students replied once more.
The professor raised his voice
With all his might…
\"You will never bring justice,
Because you remain silent in the face of injustice.
You will never uphold justice,
Because you do not fight against injustice.
You did not defend the student
Whom I dismissed
Without any right.
You stayed silent when I didn\'t allow
Her to ask her simple question…
Once you stay silent in injustice,
You are marked as unjust.
Once you fail to defend justice,
You are a violator of justice.
Just like a criminal, always.\"
Will there ever be justice in my country?!
With justice trampled,
My country will remain kneeling.
Missing justice
Will keep my country miserable.
