The early evening
Glistens in rain
The tower blocks
Wheeze their pain
The sound of laughter
Nearby it fades
The rain it runs
To dirty drains.
Streets lights flicker
As if dressed in silk
The shiny doorsteps
Await the milk
Delivered by
A happy man
Whose cart it rumbles
An age old van.
From the Quay
Seagulls screech
The waves to lash
Upon the beach
To the Old Wall
Built a century ago
The fishermen with
Their nets in tow.
