Memories of neighbors
walking about,
without fear of each other,
without fear of the world.
Walking with my mother
lovingly downtown.

Macy’s,
Woolworth’s
and Gray Drugs
for a candy bar.
A round trip ride
on the ferry to Cedar Point.
My Mom and I
watching the seagulls fly.
