Job Welime

I want to hold you

I want to hold you
the way life holds me on its gentler days.

Not with urgency. Not with the fear of losing you.Not with hands that clutch or prove.

But with a quiet knowing.

The kind of hold that says, you are safe here,
even when the world has been loud with you.

like morning light resting on a window,
not forcing its way in,
just arriving,patient and kind,
trusting it will be welcomed.

I want to hold you, Firm enough to feel like shelter.
Soft enough to feel like home.

A hold that doesn’t ask you to be smaller
or stronger or anything other than tired and human and exactly as you are.

I want to hold you, the way life does when it finally stops testing
and starts tending.

When it says,
you’ve carried enough let me carry you now.

No promises shouted into the future.
No fear stitched into the moment.
Just presence.

Just two heartbeats agreeing
to rest at the same pace

I want to hold you
and let that be enough.
