The Way of Hearts

Not every silence holds a voice suppressed,
Not every gleam of light assures the day.
I welcomed someone\'s name into my chest,
But that the same love waits? Not every way.

For two hearts to beat together as one,
For every tale to spin beneath the same sun—
This is not a truth beneath the sun,
Not every story claims it as its own.

Today my eyes are strangely still, withdrawn,
Perhaps my thoughts have turned another way.
I smiled, dreaming of a distant dawn—
Not because you wished it, I should say.

For two hearts to beat together as one,
For every tale to spin beneath the same sun—
This is not a truth beneath the sun,
Not every story claims it as its own.

That feeling they say falls from high above
Is not inscribed on every waiting palm.
So many feelings fade or go unloved,
Not every question finds its missing calm.

For two hearts to beat together as one,
For every tale to spin beneath the same sun—
This is not a truth beneath the sun,
Not every story claims it as its own.

We all have dreamed of soaring high and free,
But not every dream is given wings to fly.
Some lights are best when kept at distance, see?
Not every spark is meant to hold the light.

Now I have made my peace with what may be.
Not every road requires a hand to hold.
Not every journey asks for company...
No, not every story seeks to be told.
