LISTENING TO A TREE

When a child puts his ear to a moss-covered branch,
The tree screams with joy within
At first it speaks only in silky silence
After a solemn pause it whispers a word to the child
That only the child and the tree recognize
It plays the hum of an internal organ
It gargles with streams and currents-strings
It wishes him the experience of a tree
Perseverance in the years that will bring storms
And deep roots in the child\'s Truth
Above all PEACE PEACE PEACE
