Babylon Zoo

In the days of the caveman,

All people were free to do as they pleased,

Until they were deceased.

It’s a dangerous world we have always lived in.

It’s beautiful world.

It’s still a mystery.

As the comets flew over head all those years ago,

Still they pass through the skies; to where?  Who knows?

But still we survive.  Hearts are alive,

As we stare in the night at such beautiful lights.

As the fires keep burning,

The world keeps on turning,

Sat next to our fire.

We procreate.  We savour the day.

We haven’t really changed from a prehistoric age.

With the men with long hair, still growing their dreadlocks.

The women still oppressed.  The sun still hot.

The love began a long time ago.

Kids still play.  Families still grow.

Hunters still go in search of a way to get the food.

The gatherers gather more than the warrior fools,

And the evil had the power like they still do today.

It’s a beautiful world, where nothing has changed.

But change is the very essence of life.

So live your life like time is not on your side,

For a long time ago came a meteor strike.

It wiped out the dinosaurs, in the blink of an eye.

Now that meteor is a man made nuclear.

Nothing to see here.  Move on.  Disappear.

If we are colonizing another planet;

Will we locust that too?

Or will we evolve our chances

And go and embrace it.

The power is in your human hands.

Who you follow is up to you.

It’s a beautiful world we are living in...

This Babylon Zoo.
