A Room For Two

I wish I had a shoulder to lean on

That doesn’t pull away when I lean

A steady shelf for a heavy head

Someone to hold my hand

Our palms meeting

The lines making a fence around us

I am tired of being an island

With no residents

I want to be a house

Where someone knows

Which floorboards creak

And the doors that have to be locked

I want to be read from the cover to the final page

And still be kept on the shelf

I want to be a five star rating
