As I climbed the stairs last night,
Going up to my bed to sleep
The though came to me.
What if one day that climb would take me,
Take me to that place in the new world,
That place where my Dad was.
I would be with him once more
Sitting in the lounge,
A glass of wine by our sides
And we were listening,
Listening to music.
It could be Haydn,
It could be Brubeck,
Whatever it would be
It would be the music,
The music that I listen to,
Music brought to me by him,
Brought to me by my Dad.
He was one of Nature’s gentleman
And showed me the way to go,
The way to go in my life.
Sometimes when I look in the mirror
I see him,
See him looking back at me,
A man who I treasure,
Treasure in my heart and mind.
One day I will be with him
And our world together
Will be filled,
Filled with music
As mine is due to him.
