Ode to Truth

I
Truth, naked flame within the mind,
a clarity no veil can claim;
you rise where doubt would seek to bind
the shifting shadows into name.
No whisper bends your steady light,
no storm can make your vision blur;
you stand unbroken in the night,
the silent voice that must occur.

II
You dwell where reason learns to see,
in thought that dares to question all;
in eyes that seek what truth may be
beyond illusion’s fragile wall.
You bow to neither crown nor throne,
nor yield to power’s passing breath;
a force that stands entirely alone,
unchanged by time, untouched by death.

III
The wise pursue you without rest,
the fearful turn their gaze away;
yet you remain within the quest
that brings the hidden into day.
No barrier can long contain
the path you carve through doubt and fear;
for even in the deepest pain
your quiet presence still draws near.

IV
You are not gentle in your form,
nor easy for the heart to bear;
at times you strike with cutting storm
and leave the soul exposed and bare.
Yet in your edge there lives a grace
that shapes the courage to endure;
for only those who face your face
may find a freedom that is pure.

V
You echo in the depths unseen,
a voice no silence can suppress;
a steady pulse beneath between
the chaos and the nothingness.
And though illusion clouds the way
and falsehood seeks to claim its ground,
your light returns, a constant ray,
where truth alone is always found.

VI
Through history’s turning, you appear
at moments carved in human strife;
when lies dissolve and make it clear
what must be faced to honor life.
You have ignited change and fire,
have shattered chains and broken lies;
yet also lift the spirit higher
where lasting peace and meaning rise.

VII
You do not change to fit the will
of those who seek a gentler lie;
you stand, unyielding, silent still,
beneath the ever-questioning sky.
No mask can hold your living form,
no hand can twist what you reveal;
you rise again through calm or storm,
a truth that thought alone can feel.

VIII
Truth, mirror clear without disguise,
reflecting all we are within;
no hidden depth escapes your eyes,
no guarded self remains unseen.
And though the heart may turn away,
afraid of what it comes to know,
it finds within your steady ray
the strength to face, to learn, to grow.

IX
You are the root of what is just,
the ground on which all meaning stands;
without you, law dissolves to dust,
and chaos slips through open hands.
In your defense, the brave arise,
to speak, to stand, to not betray;
for where your quiet presence lies,
the path of right reveals its way.

X
No single voice can claim your name,
nor bind you to a single view;
you are beyond both pride and blame,
a horizon ever drawing through.
And though we seek to understand
the fullness of your endless frame,
we touch but fragments in our hand
of what no language can contain.

XI
May you remain within our sight,
in every word and thought we form;
a guiding presence, clear and bright,
that holds us steady through the storm.
Let not illusion cloud the way
nor comfort turn our eyes aside;
but let your quiet, constant ray
be where our deepest truths abide.

XII
So I invoke your timeless flame,
truth, essence of what must endure;
beyond all fear, beyond all name,
the only ground that remains sure.
For while your light within us stays,
no darkness can entirely claim;
and through the long unfolding days
we live, and grow, and speak your name.
