IF I WERE TO FORGET

If I were to forget
Lips to lips
My hungry breath
Your sensuous neck.

The tightness of
Your golden thighs
The climax of
Dawns morning rise.

If I were to forget
Our bodies entwined
In mutual haste
Rawness of loves cascade.

If I were to forget
Sadness of the bitter break
The time now passed
How hearts can ache.

If I were to forget
These things
Then in poetry
I would have sinned.

For memories are
Our looking glass
And in pain recalled
Alas..alas.
