Kora

Kaleidoscopic

I compare you to lavender,
Proudly growing amongst
A meadow of thistle.
But while you are soft,
And oh so beautiful,
The image of a flower
Does little to reflect
The purity of your heart.

I compare you to a willow,
Softly dancing in the wind.
But while you are gentle,
Filled with a peace
Ancient, and long forgotten,
The image of a tree
Could never reflect
The depth behind your eyes.

I compare you to the flame,
One moment shyly flickering,
The next bursting forth
With a passion unmatched
By even the brightest star
But the image of fire
Neglects to capture
The strength of your mind.

I compare you to the universe,
For this He created
With nothing but Love,
Flawed and fallible,
Perfect and blossoming.
Perhaps this is truest of all;
That through you,
I am brought to life.

Our souls bound
By a thread,
Kaleidoscopic,
That only He can see.
