Lay on the bed,
Close your eyes,
Dream of a world,
That only lives beneath lies.
Lay on the bed,
Put your headphones on your ears,
Blast the music,
Forget all your fears.
Drown in the night,
With the stars held in its grasp,
Forget the light,
Snatch off the clasp.
No promises can be made,
Not a safety pin,
Why listen to a piece of metal,
When I could just throw it in the bin.
Water beside you,
Two papers on your left,
One with Mom and Dad,
And the other for the rest.
Wear the best attire,
Read the prescription,
What does it require?
Make sure I’ve taken a shower,
They should work in an hour.
Look outside,
For it may be the last time,
To see the trees,
And feel the soothing breeze.
Organize the room,
Book after book,
Folding clothes,
And every owned look.
Make your bed,
Just as you were told,
That’s what she said,
Keep those words on hold.
Lay on your bed,
Leave with a smile,
Dream of a world,
You’ll meet in a while.
