Keaton was delivered strugglin’ to stay warm
and he grew about as cold as the day he was born,
He had a bit of warmth, but only his parents saw-
well it wasn’t very long until the family knew
when Keaton came around, then so did the blues-
They were hoping someday he’d find himself a fire-
The preachers wouldn’t help him
thought that nobody could
till a smile came ‘round and started burnin’ some wood,
He felt a kinda fire he thought he’d never have-
C
Well Keaton believed he had found the one
from him she brought out hidden fun
cuz that fire started to feel a bit like home-
but he’s a country boy, and she’s city queen,
And they couldn’t settle in between-
so they ended off to avoid the half N’ half-
V
He may have left the one who started the spark,
But the fire never left from inside of his heart
And he found something he knew he couldn’t lose-
cuz he found his family, his home, and his dream
and a grace that showed he’d never leave-
the good LORD worked on his troubled soul-
C
So maybe someday he’ll meet the one
finally have himself a son
and pass on down the good grace of GOD-
But for now that’s all he ever needs
that warmth that brought him to his knees
and a vow to never leave it half N’ half-
