Mind in a Mirror

My face within the current bound.

Asphyxiates and still can\'t drown.

Twisting neath the waves it shouts

Where life can\'t reach and death bows out.

Consigned into a watery cage,

Content inside its silence stays.

Disconnected, the flesh broke free

Mind rests somewhere in between.

A walking shadow

Lurking among the living

Juxtaposed by life.

Does blood only fuel a bleeding machine?

Its purpose only a ghost that haunts it?

Evermore I chase this apparition

That may be my soul to once more reclaim.

Looking to assuage this wonder

Interplay between mind and spirit.

Failing again to grasp the answer.

Even saints lose their patience.

Liminal state of being.

Entwined in a web of moil.

Something alive that can\'t exist.

Something ethereal, forced to live.
