An Early Summer

Today summer came a bit early…

The warmth on my neck and the twinges of the first tear…

For the start of every season, my hearty dims…

I see my angels face look to me with wonder and joy of what’s anew…

As my distant pain comes to remind me…

I ask the question I run from asking each day…

Where are you now?

I take so little for granted these days, and have grown to be so aware…

Of the moment in time, that comes each day, where now a fragile heart…

Sways precariously to then chip away…

For when I had you, I took you for granted too.

Did you feel the sun on your face today my love?

And did you think of then…when you did?

I did…as my skin became moist…

From the tears falling of what I lost...

You.

Knowing I can never ask the words...will you?

Now...please let the Autumn leaves fall soon.
