Hujambo! Jambo Bwana!
Habari gani? Mzuri sana!
Hello, Friend! How are you?
I hope you enjoy the mountain view!
Everyone seems so eager to climb,
but on the mountain, take your time!
Pole pole! Slowly, slowly!
Hakuna Matata! No Hurries, No worries!
Have your breakfast and pack light,
we start soon; I hope you feel bright.
We’re here for the climb and have similar goals,
check your gear and adjust the trekking poles.
Slowly, slowly, move your feet,
keeping in sync with your heart’s beat.
A simple way to reach the apex,
is to put the earlier step ahead of the next.
Take small steps, when ascending high
and longer steps on a descending glide.
A mountain climb is a friendly contest,
help your friend if he is stressed.
Take quick rests to catch your breath,
the breath is a matter of life and death.
Hydrate well to keep your spirit strong,
The view is enjoyable, as we march along.
Find a rhythm, maybe hum a song,
to maintain a pace, to keep going along.
Are you well, Climber? Hello, dear friend!
We are going to achieve, what we intend.
Respect the mountain, it is ancient and wise,
where the snow falls and wind flies.
It has a spirit that reaches for the skies,
Whoever makes the effort gets the prize.
